Akagera National Park takes you to explore the Akagera National Park which is located in Eastern Rwanda on the border with Tanzania will give you a great experience to explore this only Savanna National Park where game drives can only be carried in Rwanda.  Akagera national park is known for harboring the big 5. Akagera national park is the only Savannah park in Rwanda and is home to several mammal species including Lions, Elephants, Giraffes, Hippos, Kobs, Zebras, Bushbucks, Waterbucks and most recently Black Rhinos have been introduced from South Africa, making Akagera national park officially a big 5 park like it was many years ago.

After an early breakfast, you will be picked from your accommodation facility by your safari driver from Naturenest safaris at around 5 am then head your trip to Akagera National Park taking about 2.5 hours from the city center. That is Kigali. As soon as you reach the Park, you will have a morning game drive that lasts for about 4 hours depending on your taste and preferances. In this savannah park expect to see a number of animals such as; Elephants, Zebras, Giraffes, Buffaloes, Waterbucks, Topi’s and Lions including numerous bird species. Have lunch at Akagera game lodge then proceed with your last game drive on your way out of the park arriving in Kigali later in the evening.

3 Days Rwanda Gorilla Tracking

Tracking mountain gorillas is one of the most popular Rwandan tourist activities. Mountain Gorillas can only be found in a few places on Earth and Rwanda’s Volcanoes National Park is one of them. This is why tourists from around the world visit Rwanda every year to take part in Gorilla trekking.

Day 1 Kigali – Volcanoes National Park

Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport (Must be on an early flight during the daytime). Embark on a drive to Ruhengeri near volcanoes. You drive amidst rolling hills with great views of the valleys, with great plantations. Dinner and overnight stay at Da Vinci Lodge on full board basis.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking- Visit local community

Wake up early in the morning, have a shower from your lodge then have breakfast and get ready for trekking, which begins at 8:00 am with a briefing from the Rwanda park officials. Ensure to carry along with you a rain jacket, drinking water, snacks, hiking boots, etc. The guides will lead you inside the jungle to see the Primates for a group you have been booked for. Tracking takes around 2 to 6 hours.

In the afternoon, you will have a local community encounter by visiting the Iby’ Iwacu cultural Centre to get to know the real traditional history of Rwanda’s past kingship leadership, marriage, beer making, and local herbs to mention but a few. Dinner and overnight stay at Da Vinci Lodge on Full Board. (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner).

Day 3: Volcanoes –Kigali Airport

After an early breakfast, set off from Volcanoes National Park back to Kigali with launch enroute. Depending on our time of departure, you can visit the Genocide memorial Center if not so you can be directly transferred to Kigali Airport for your outbound flight. Meal plan Half Board that is; Breakfast and Lunch.
